2019 has arrived and we are only 160 days away from gathering together at this year’s annual conference! Get those papers in, submit a proposal for the returning P12 teacher workshop, become part of our executive committee, or plan to join us to learn from our friends and colleagues. Whatever your reason – I look forward to seeing you in Tampa.
2019 ASEE Annual Conference – Paper Drafts Due Feb 4th
Reminder that first drafts of papers for accepted abstracts are due on Monday February 4th. Don’t procrastinate! Get those in soon! – the deadline is February 4th.
PreK-12 Educator Workshop – Now Accepting Session Proposals
The annual PreK-12 Educator Workshop will be taking place on Saturday June 15, 2019 in Tampa. It has a slightly modified name (P-12 Educator Conference) and exciting new format!
The PreK-12 Educator Workshop is seeking interactive and engaging classroom activities, appropriate for elementary, middle, or high schools students. We are looking for dynamic and interactive presentations to be delivered to over 200 P-12 teachers in the Tampa area focused on early learner engineering, project-based learning, design thinking, sustainability, and other related topics. We will also be having the Curriculum Showcase at the end of the day. Please use the following links for more information and to submit your presenter and/or showcase application. Proposals are due by February 24, 2019.

Opportunities
New York Hall of Science – Engineering Night
Great opportunity to participate in an upcoming event at the New York Hall of Science (NYSCI), Engineering Night on Friday, February 1st from 5:30pm-7:30pm, where we hope to showcase projects, jobs, and educational opportunities within engineering for our middle school, high school, and college students in attendance. This free community event will be an opportunity to expose our younger audience to fields and jobs they may not be familiar with through networking, hands-on activities, and panel discussions.

Assistant, Associate or Full Professor, Chemical Engineering, Campbell University School of Engineering
The School of Engineering at Campbell University (http://www.campbell.edu/engineering/) seeks an Engineering Faculty for a full-time, tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor, starting in January 2019. This position in Chemical Engineering is focused on teaching our junior and senior courses in chemical engineering, as well as assisting with the senior design sequence. Campbell’s BS in Engineering (with concentrations in mechanical engineering, chemical engineering and electrical engineering) welcomed its inaugural first-year class in fall 2016. These positions present faculty with a unique opportunity to provide leadership in building an innovative engineering program and the prominence of the new School and University.
Duties will include: develop, implement and teach project-based engineering curricula; actively participate in the scholarship of teaching and learning; engage in student advising, student organizations, assessment, accreditation activities, and committee responsibilities. Applicants should be interested in contributing leadership toward the development of the engineering program. Candidates must be committed to innovative engineering undergraduate education; dedicated to excellence in undergraduate teaching, mentoring students, and scholarship; and committed to the University’s mission.
