Hello, colleagues. I hope you have had a chance to check out ASEE President Walt Buchanan’s editorial on page 53 of the new PRISM magazine. It’s about K-20!
Below is a special notice from our Program Chair, Susan Donohue. We have received few abstracts so far, and with our usual number of submissions, this tells me we’ve got some procrastinating going on! 🙂 PLEASE be sure to submit your abstracts as soon as possible to avoid any submission issues at the end of the week. In addition, Don’t miss information in Susan’s note about submissions for our annual Best Practices and Curriculum Exchange sessions in Atlanta.
I look forward to being on the review team and learning about all the work you are doing. Thanks for submitting, and thanks for all you do.
Liz

2013 ASEE Annual Conference Call for Papers, Curriculum Exchange, Best Practices, and Reviewers
Just a gentle reminder that abstracts for proposed papers are due by this Friday, 21 September, by 5 pm EDT. PLEASE don’t wait until the last minute if at all possible. The upload process historically has become slow to non-existent from 3:30 pm on, and the upload speed (or lack thereof) just gets worse as 5 pm approaches.
Another gentle reminder is to send an email to asee.k12.2013@gmail.com by this Wednesday, 19 September if you’re willing to serve as a reviewer. Indicate the subject area(s) you would prefer to review. A note of acknowledgment documenting your service will be sent to you in April, 2013. Reviewers have been drafted from the 2012 Business Meeting attendee list, and may be drafted from among abstract authors as needed.
Finally, do you have a super engaging and fun curriculum and/or a set of best practices in P-12 engineering education? Please send your proposal (follow the abstract guidelines, please) to asee.k12.2013@gmail.com by midnight Friday, 12 October.
Please contact the Division’s Program Chair, Susan Donohue, University of Virginia, at susand@virginia.edu if you have any questions or require more information. We look forward to working with you to develop a great set of informative and compelling sessions!
