Thoughts from the Chair
It’s election time! Not only for our division, but also for ASEE National positions. This year there are candidates with strong ties to P-12 Engineering Education running for positions with ASEE. I encourage each of you to log into ASEE and cast your ballot for the candidates that you feel are best qualified for the positions. There are several important deadlines coming up for the division. Please make sure that you are adhering to them! The summary is here, with details provided in the sections below.
Reviews of Papers – Due Feb 25th (not March 4th)

The messages that went out from ASEE Conferences with the request to review papers can easily be misconstrued. Below is an example from the one that I received. The March 04, 2019 date is for our PROGRAM Chair, not you the reviewer. Reviewers need to complete these by February 25th in order for our Program Chair to complete the work needed on decisions by the date provided.
You have been requested to review Xxxxxx: Xxxxx xxxx Xxx from the Pre-College Engineering Education Division for the 2019 ASEE Annual Conference & Exposition.

PreK-12 Educator Workshop – Now Accepting Session Proposals
The annual PreK-12 Educator Workshop will be taking place on Saturday June 15, 2019 in Tampa. It has a slightly modified name (P-12 Educator Conference) and exciting new format!
The PreK-12 Educator Workshop is seeking interactive and engaging classroom activities, appropriate for elementary, middle, or high schools students. We are looking for dynamic and interactive presentations to be delivered to over 200 P-12 teachers in the Tampa area focused on early learner engineering, project-based learning, design thinking, sustainability, and other related topics. We will also be having the Curriculum Showcase at the end of the day. Please use the following links for more information and to submit your presenter and/or showcase application. Proposals are due by February 24, 2019.

PCEE Division Executive Committee Elections
We have an outstanding slate of candidates on our ballot for the Executive Committee positions. Descriptions of the candidates and the positions they are running for can be found here. Place you votes using this Ballot by March 1st. This year, the following positions are involved in the election:

- P12 Representative (P-5) (1-year term)
- P12 Representative (6-12) (1-year term)

Opportunities & Recognition
PCEE Division Awards
The PreCollege Engineering Education Division of ASEE values the work that our members do, and honors that work through two awards that are available to award annually. We are currently accepting nominations for these awards via this form. Self nominations are accepted.
Meritorious Service – This award is given to a PCEE Division member who has provided exemplary service in alignment with the PCEE Division Vision, Mission and Core Beliefs and in support of pre-college engineering education efforts within ASEE. Such service goes above and beyond baseline expectations for service within elected or appointed positions.
Lifetime Achievement – This award is given to a PCEE Division member who has provided a high standard of service in alignment with the PCEE Division Vision, Mission and Core Beliefs and in support of pre-college engineering education efforts within ASEE, and who has made significant and sustained contributions (10 years or more) to the field of pre-college engineering education.
ASEE Board of Director Voting
One of the things that I value the most in our democracy is our right to vote. That holds true as a member of ASEE, as well as being a citizen. The Board of Director Nominees for election are all eminently qualified for the positions for which they are candidates. A couple of them also have strong ties to P-12 Engineering Education.
