Conference news: As part of the 2017 Interdivisional Town Hall meeting, ASEE is convening a Virtual Conference at the following site:

IJEMST Special Issue on Engineering Education (re-posted x3). The International Journal of Education in Mathematics, Science and Technology (IJEMST) is interested in publishing a special issue with a focus on Engineering Education. We are looking for colleagues globally who are interested in contributing articles related to trends, research, and pedagogy in Engineering Education, to be published in the one of the 2018 issues of IJEMST. Qualitative, quantitative, and mixed method research papers, position statements, literature reviews, theoretical works, and works in curriculum and learning environments will be considered. Graduate Program for K12 Teachers (re-posted x3): The Teacher Engineering Education Programis flexible, affordable, and designed to fit a busy teacher’s lifestyle. All four courses are online, offer 16 total hours of graduate credit, and have a low student-to-instructor ratio. Also, all materials necessary to complete the coursework are shipped to participants, including (but not limited to) robotics projects and hands-on resources from LEGO Education. Course content is differentiated for those just getting started and those who have already used engineering in their classrooms. Scholarship Information:
Pre-College Engineering Education is a division of the American Society for Engineering Education. Our mission is to grow and sustain a community whose members collectively build expertise and capacity in pre-college engineering education knowledge and practice. The PCEE Scholarship Initiative supports educators in attending the 2017 ASEE Workshop on PreK-12 Engineering Education. Apply in order to receive paid professional development on how to integrate the “E” in STEM into learning and engage students in authentic engineering experiences while broadening your understanding of the engineering practices as articulated in the Next Generation Science Standards.
Each PCEE Scholarship supports teacher professional learning by funding:
Registration for the educator to attend the 2017 ASEE Workshop on PreK-12 Engineering Education ($35)
Teacher Member dues ($50)
Stipend for travel cost (not to exceed $215)
Eligibility: Applicants must meet the following criteria:
Be a full-time classroom teacher or Science/STEM specialist/coach in grades PreK – 12 or a pre-service educator in PreK-12 education
Be teaching full-time and plan to start / continue full-time status during the following academic year (2017-2018)
Be able to attend the 2017 ASEE Workshop on PreK-12 Engineering Education Saturday, June 24, 2017 in Columbus, OH
Obligations: Recipients must agree to:
